The Core of Depth Work
After 25 years of training, mentoring, assessing, and supporting coaches, one thing has become deeply clear:
Real transformation often begins when we slow down enough to turn inward and give attention to what is already here.
Not by forcing change.
Not by rushing toward solutions.
But by creating spaces where clients feel safe enough to pause, listen more deeply to themselves, and gently meet what most needs attention beneath the surface.
When this happens, something begins to soften.
Clients reconnect with themselves.
New awareness emerges.
And meaningful, lasting change becomes possible.
Now you’re ready for something deeper.
Toward a way of coaching that works with what is emerging in the moment.
Depth-Oriented Coaching™ integrates mindfulness, somatic awareness, relational presence, and parts-informed approaches to support coaches in working with the deeper patterns, protections, and embodied experiences that shape lasting change.
This is work that invites both coach and client to slow down, turn inward, and bring awareness to what most needs attention beneath the surface.
Meet Satyam Veronica Chalmers
Founder, Depth-Oriented Coaching™ Institute.
Most people know me as Satyam (pronounced Sat-ee-um), a Sanskrit name meaning “truth.” It was given to me over 20 years ago during a significant period of personal and spiritual exploration, and it continues to reflect the essence of both my life and work: living and relating with presence, integrity, and authenticity.
Over the last 25+ years of training, mentoring and assessing coaches, my work has gradually evolved toward one central understanding:
real transformation often begins when we slow down enough to turn inward and give attention to what is already here.
Through years of coaching, mindfulness practice, somatic work, and transformational learning, I became increasingly interested in creating spaces where people feel supported to pause, listen more deeply to themselves, and gently meet the parts of their experience that are often overlooked, rushed past, or pushed aside.
This understanding became the foundation of Depth-Oriented Coaching™ an approach that integrates mindfulness, somatic awareness, relational presence, and parts-informed coaching to support deeper awareness, safety, and meaningful change.
Today, through the Depth-Oriented Coaching Institute, I support coaches in developing the presence, attunement, and embodied capacity to hold these kinds of transformational spaces for others.
I’m also the author of "Mindfulness Coaching" and continue to deepen my work through ongoing mindfulness, somatic, and contemplative practice.
I currently live in a quiet coastal part of Perth with my partner of more than 20 years, close to both the ocean and the river.
My Professional Background

Experience: Coaching Private Practice for 25 years, Head of Training & Assessment (Neuroleadership Institute for 2008-2010), Creator and Facilitator of Mindfulness Coaching (trained hundreds globally 2015-2025), Woman-Centered Transformational Coaching Teaching Faculty (2018-2025).

And yet, beyond all credentials, trainings and experience, what truly shapes my work is cultivating embodied presence. The willingness to keep listening to myself and my clients. To keep practicing and growing. To keep returning to what’s emerging here and now.
My Work Weaves Together:
My work integrates presence-centered coaching with somatic intelligence, psychological insight, and transformational methodology. I draw from:
- Mindfulness practices to ground awareness in the present moment both for the coach and client
- Intuitive, embodied tools that support access to deeper awareness
- Nervous system-informed approach to foster regulation and resilience
- Parts work inspired by Internal Family Systems to support inner clarity and integration
- Inner Relationship Focusing to meet internal experience with compassion and curiosity
- Hakomi principles for body-centered self-inquiry and uncovering core patterns
- Neuroscience-informed insights that deepens understanding
- Transformational coaching frameworks that guide clients through lasting belief and identity shifts to support sustainable change
This integrative approach supports clients and the space holders who serve them - to return to their innate clarity, trust their process, and lead from within.
